Genoa Lakes Golf Club & Resort was proud to host the 2011 Girls Junior America's Cup. Played this year at the Genoa Lakes "Lakes Course." This was a wonderful opportunity to walk the course and see some of the most talented young girls playing golf on the west coast of the USA , Canada and Mexico. Past champions inlude Pat Hurst in1985 & 1986, and former women's world number one golfer Lorena Ochoa in 1997, 1998, and 1999.

The Girls Junior America's Cup was established in 1978. Today the tournament brings girls together from various states and countries fostering new friendships and mutual respect. Each team consists of the top four girls from each state/country. These golfers exemplify not only outstanding skill and experience, but also true sportsmanship, discipline, courtesy and strength of character. The tournament consists of teams playing a 54-hole competition plus many fun events.  

Teams are comprised of four girls representing state or regional association. The three lowest scores from each team will establish the team total, the highest team score will be dropped after each round. The team who play 54 holes of stroke play in the fewest amount of stroke will earn the team title. The individual who plays 54 holes of stroke play in the fewest amount of strokes will earn the medalist honor.
